DECISIONS TAKEN DURING COORDINATION COMMITTEE MEET

Date: 22.01.2005Day: SaturdayPlace: GSA Office, Ranchi

Coordination committee meeting was held on the aforesaid date, which was the continuation of previous meeting organised on 23rd December 2004. Name of members / participants have been listed in Annexure – I.

Agenda decided for this meeting were: -

  • Developing GSA as membership organization

  • Structure of GSA coordination committee

  • Structure of GSA

  • Issues for 2005

  • Action plan for 3 months (Jan – Mar’05)

  • Latest information about new names proposed as members in the GSA coordination committee

Decisions arrived on the above mentioned agendas are as follows:

  1. Developing GSA as membership organization & structure of GSA coordination committee:

    1.1. Membership to be divided in –

    : Founder membership

    : Institutional Membership

    : Individual membership

    1.2. Persons / activists working or are agree with the core values of GSA, which are Gender equity, Secular, active, fraternity, denying capitalist ideas must be encouraged to join as members.

    1. Founder members of GSA will be those who are actively involved / working on the right based issues since 2 – 2 ½ years. List of members, which will act founder members of GSA, is attached in Annexure – II.

    2. Founder members will be in the Coordination Committee of GSA for at least 3 years, so that this could help to develop the GSA’s activities firmly and founder member will not have the special right, only will act as facilitators for strengthening the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan.

    3. These founder members can identify active members who could be engrossed in GSA’s membership, and, Regional coordination committee could be developed if the number of member increases in a considerable manner.

    4. Orientation to be planned / organized for new members.

    5. Core values of GSA to be mentioned in the membership registration form

    6. One copy of Registration form will be provided to the member and the other one will be for the use of GSA secretariat office.

  2. Structure of GSA:

    1. Action Aid will be responsible for the recruitment of and decision on GSA secretariat staffs.

    2. Responsibility for interim coordination has been given to three persons. Name of those coordinators are:

      Mr. Dinesh Murmu (Fulltime)

      Ms. Malancha Ghosh (Supporting)

      Mr. Heeralal Gupta (Supporting)

    3. These coordinators with the help of GSA secretariat staff members will prepare plan of Action for 3 months.

  1. GSA Plan of Action (2005):

    1. Publication:

    • Responsibility for publication of Bulletin / magazine has been given to Ashim, Heeralal, Malancha Ghosh, Jyotsna, Jiwan and Dinesh.

    • Minimum 4 magazines to be published in a year from GSA

    • Process to be start for the registration of the magazine.

    • Articles / reports to be invited from other parts for the GSA bulletin

    • Yearly 12 bulletins of 2 pages to be issued

    • Document of GSA, which could present introductory part, is to be developed (Balwant, Neeraj, Bhuneswar).

    • Expansion of mailing list

    • Government circular to be collected and distribution among the partners

3.2. Research:

    • Research team will comprise Heeralal, Ashim, Jiwan, Malancha, Binay, Jyotsna, Chandan, Ashrfi, and Dinesh.

    • Quarterly report on survey of social security schemes will continue as was in 2004.

    • Mid day Meal survey – by February 2005

    • Printing of Advisory Manual

    • BPL consultation (March - April)

 

    1. Cadre Development:

    • Micro planning training on Right to Work at the panchayat level (March’05)

    • Training manual to be developed till February 2005 by the team of (Rajesh, Ashim, Jyotsna,Anu, Joojhar and Manoj)

    1. Agitation programme:

    • Mass petition on Micro Plan – Right to Work (April end)

    • Social Audit (August, September, October)

  • Drought case – (June, July)
